PlayStation Plus subscriptions are reportedly at an all-time high, though Sony has hardly said a word about it.

Every now and then, PlayStation has an earnings call to discuss the successes and failures of its current business models and strategies.

PlayStation is in a very good place following the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which you can check out below

The most recent earnings call sang the praises of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the most recent PlayStation 5 blockbuster that’s blown fans away with its narrative, gameplay changes and general webslinging fun.

However, amidst the celebratory cheers and pats on the back from Sony, the company failed to draw much attention to the fact PlayStation Plus memberships continue to increase month after month.

The company said: “The overall number of monthly active users for PlayStation in September was 107 million accounts, an increase of 5 million from the same month last year, and the proportion of PS5 users, who have high user engagement, increased to a little over 40% of the total.”

That’s no small feat, especially since you’d think most subscribers are unhappy with the subscription service’s latest offerings.

Ever since the sneaky price hike for all PlayStation Plus tiers, fans have declared there’s simply not enough on the service to justify paying more, despite new additions like cloud-streaming games for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.

Nevertheless, PlayStation seems confident in its ability to retain and increase subscribers, saying: “By continuing to offer attractive new features and content to our users, such as starting cloud streaming of PS5 titles […] we aim to increase engagement while further expanding the composition ratio of our top-tier services Extra and Premium.’

If you’re not yet subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you should take full advantage of this gift card hack to get a discount on the new membership.

Memberships are also expected to be discounted as part of the Black Friday sales.
