PlayStation fans are praising one of the latest free games introduced in the latest PlayStation Plus drop.

PlayStation Plus isn’t short of bangers when it comes to its Extra game catalogue. Featuring some of the biggest and best titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man, basically all of the Assassin’s Creed games and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, it’s got a hefty selection that’s perfect for everyone’s tastes.

Take a look at the trailer for Death's Door below

While the majority will be content with playing through the AAA line-up, if you dig deep enough there are plenty of hidden gems that many will have likely overlooked, one of which being Deaths Door.

If you’re unfamiliar, Death’s Door is an action/adventure game that’s currently available as a free download for all PlayStation Plus subscribers, whether you’re on the Essential, Extra or Premium tiers.

Players will explore a series of levels as a crow, hacking and slashing at enemies and bosses in an attempt to reclaim a soul that was stolen from them.

Despite receiving positive reviews, the game will have likely gone unnoticed by the majority of players, prompting Reddit user lucjuli08 to create a post saying: “About to finish Death's Door. Anyone else was pleasantly surprised by it?”

Those who’d played it through their takes into the mix, with the majority loving what it has to offer, especially the post-game content.

“I only just started a few days ago but I'm really enjoying it. The difficulty is there but so far is manageable if you've got enough patience for the boss fights. Solid game.”

“I'm loving it. It's stylish with really good gameplay. It's difficult but not too bad for my old self.”

“This game is awesome but I need a map.”

The game is well worth checking out if you’re a fan of hack-and-slash, dungeon-crawling gameplay, but if you’re not a fan don’t worry, there are plenty of titles on PS Plus that’ll likely catch your eye if you look hard enough.

Death’s Door is available to download right now at no additional cost, for those with an active PlayStation Plus membership, regardless of the tier.
