PlayStation Plus users can pick up a bonus freebie for the acclaimed open-world game, Sky: Children of the Light.

Already a free game in itself, Sky: Children of the Light’s bonus pack available on PlayStation Plus includes a bunch of free items that you’d usually have to pay separately for.

The Spring Pack, which is available on any tier of PlayStation Plus subscription, was released last week and is the perfect thing to pick up if you’re a player of the game.

“Celebrate the spirit of friendship with the Sky: Children of the Light Spring Pack,” reads the item description. “As a special thank you to all PlayStationPlus® members, this pack includes a collection of consumable spells and currency to help light your way.”

The Spring Pack includes 30 Regular Candles, three Blue Colored Trail Spells, three Fast Recharge Spells, and three Rainbow Glow Spells.

Whether you’ve been playing Sky: Children of the Light for a while now, or are a completely new player, the Spring Pack should give you a little boost when progressing towards any of the game’s various goals.

Sky: Children Of The Light Remains An Excellent Open World MMO For Those Who Enjoy Cosy Games

Created by Thatgamecompany, the same developer of some of the best games on the PlayStation 3 like Journey and Flower, Sky: Children of the Light is the company’s most recent game, having been released in 2019.

Thatgamecompany

“Restore light to a world overcome by darkness, uncovering memories that shine light on a fallen kingdom,” reads the blurb on Sky: Children of the Light. “Free trapped spirits across seven realms, return them to the constellations, and bring life back to Sky.

“Take flight across beautiful, mystical landscapes, discovering hidden secrets, trapped spirits, and Winged Light to strengthen your flight. Dive and glide for an enchanting flight experience with easy maneuverability that brings a sense of engagement, wonder, and curiosity. Explore on your own or journey with friends who guide the way.”

Think of the game as like a cosy MMO, where combat and action takes a backseat in favour of exploration, discovery, and interaction with other players.

As Thatgamecompany states, the game is “designed as a safe, welcoming place for everyone” and that’s exactly what the game is trying to achieve. Your world is shared, but chat is only visible with friends, or in designated areas for open interaction.

It has a built-in translation system too to allow you to communicate with anyone, regardless of location across the world.

It also encourages self-expression through the use of cosmetic items, such as new capes to help you soar through the skies, as well as glasses, masks, hairstyles, and boots to help you express yourself through your character.

In addition to PlayStation 5, you can also play Sky: Children of the Light on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, Android, iOS and PC, where it has been a Steam Early Access game since 2024.
