PlayStation Plus gains bonus Fortnite freebie as smash hit Override season gets underway

PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim free Fortnite DLC as Chapter 7 Season 4: Override gets underway. The free bundle includes a new cosmetic outfit, Shield Pickaxe and Back Bling, but it won’t be available forever. When Epic Games’ Fortnite was first released in 2017, it’s quite hard to believe that it was merely a co-op wave-based survival game called Fortnite: Save the World, where players would fight off hordes of monsters.

However, later that year, the game quite literally changed forever with the introduction of the Fortnite battle royale mode. Then, as they say, the rest is history, as Fortnite went on to become one of the most popular free-to-play games in history and this week, it celebrated the launch of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override.

The free PS Plus DLC in question is called ‘Fortnite - Pond Protector Pack’ and includes LEGO cosmetic versions too, which is awesome! Here’s exactly what the free DLC includes:

How long will the Fortnite DLC be available for?

At this time, that’s unclear. What we will say, however, is that free PlayStation Plus DLC doesn't hang around forever, so neither should you in deciding whether to pick it up.

Can you use this free Fortnite DLC on other platforms?

Yes, you can. As you know, Fortnite is a cross-platform game, so as long as you have linked your Epic Games account, once you’ve claimed and downloaded this free Fortnite DLC, you’ll be able to access it across all available platforms.

Just like other cross-platform content, the ‘Fortnite - Pond Protector Pack’ will appear in your Fortnite Locker.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override is a massive crossover event that includes Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Kingdom Hearts, Tetris, Pac-Man and Mega Man.
