PlayStation Plus is set to bring back a classic third-person shooter from the PlayStation 2 era in a matter of days.
The PlayStation 2 era was a strong one for the genre, delivering us bangers like TimeSplitters, Killzone, and many more.
You may also have fond memories of Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and it’s your lucky day if you do.
The 2004 action classic from developer Midway is launching on PlayStation Plus’ premium tier on July 21.

If you’re not familiar with this classic, it revolves around the player being able to make use of six psychic abilities: telekinesis, pyrokinesis, aura view, mind control, mind drain, and remote viewing.
It sees you step into the shoes of undercover agent Nick Scryer who is attempting to escape a terrorist organiation that’s wiped his memory.
As Scryer begins his escape, his memories start to resurface and he must race to stop the organisation from taking control of a powerful artifact.
It was well received at launch and now, 22 years on, it’s set to return after previously looking to be abandoned forever.

The re-released version will launch for subscribers for free on PlayStation Plus’ premium tier on July 19.
We’ve known about this for a little while given that PlayStation revealed as much during a former State of Play, but it’s likely slipped the minds of many.

PlayStation Plus’ full extra and premium tier line-up is due to be confirmed later today, on Wednesday July 15.
If you’re in the US, UK, and Japan, it’s expected that PlayStation will continue trialling its phased rollout which means we won’t know which days each game in the line-up is launching until it’s announced.
For those elsewhere, all games are expected to become available on Tuesday July 21.
We do now know PlayStation Plus’ July essential tier line-up which is already available.
It’s not the best outing we’ve ever seen but this month, PlayStation Plus users can grab Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For The King II, and CrossCode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is considered to have one of the worst campaigns in recent memory, so it’s not an ideal headliner but if you’re yet to give it a go, now’s your chance.
For The King II is a tactical RPG while CrossCode is a retro-inspired 2D action RPG.
PlayStation could do with blowing subscribers out of the water when it comes to the imminent extra and premium tier line-up.
Many users are in the midst of cancelling their subscriptions amid calls to boycott Sony due to its new all-digital policy.
From January 2028, PlayStation will drop offering physical copies of games and that goes for both first and third-party titles.
While the company has faced immense backlash since announcing the decision, it’s widely believed that the decision won’t be u-turned unless users protest with their wallets.
