It is the general consensus that Sony adding classic games to its PS Plus library was one of the best decisions ever made.

Never has that statement been more true after the news that two PlayStation 1 classics will be joining PlayStation Plus very soon.

Check out the original 1999 trailer for Dino Crisis below!

Available for PlayStation Plus Premium members as part of the classics selection, Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain will be the next two titles joining the library.

If you are new to gaming and aren’t familiar with these two much-loved titles, then here’s a brief rundown.

Dino Crisis is a survival-horror title which was first launched in 1999 by Capcom.

The story focuses on recurring outbreaks of deadly dinosaurs in closed environments, such as laboratories or islands, and the series consists of three mainline entries and multiple spin-offs.

With it having been almost 30 years since Dino Crisis was first released, fans have been calling out for a remake.

However, with no sign of one on the horizon despite many rumours, at least it can still be enjoyed for free courtesy of PlayStation Plus later this year.

Next is Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, a 1996 action-adventure title published by Crystal Dynamics.

As the first title in the Legacy of Kain series, it follows Kain, a slain nobleman who gets resurrected as a vampire.

Now with a second chance at life, he sets off on a quest for revenge against his murderers as well as find a way to cure his vampirism.

Despite being re-released for GOG in 2021, this is the first time Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain will be heading to the PS Plus library and fans are excited for both new titles.

“This is big,” one comment read over on r/PlayStationPlus.

“Capcom actually doing something with one of their PS1 games is huge. Hopefully this means RE2 and 3 are possible. And also Dino Crisis 2.”

Another said: “Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. I waited for so long, oh my god, it’s happening.

And Soul Reaver Remastered! I’m so not playing anything else before I 100% complete them!”

This also comes at the perfect time as a Legacy of Kain remaster is finally on the way.
