PlayStation Plus has thrown everybody off-kilter this month, revealing its June essential tier line-up ahead of schedule.
This is because Days of Play 2026 is now underway.
The yearly event welcomes new deals, offers, and sales across both the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.
This time around, PlayStation has thrown in the reveal of June’s essential tier offerings too, but there’s no real benefit beyond us finding out those titles a few days early.

From 2 June, essential tier subscribers can enjoy Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
It was also revealed that Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is heading to the extra tier later this month, on 9 June to be exact.
As I said, none of this news is particularly special or exciting. It just landed early.
What is out of the ordinary though - and should get you hyped - is the fact that PlayStation Plus’ premium tier has just added a whopping 36 new Game Trials.
Game Trials are essentially deluxe demos.
They’re pretty controversial given that they’re locked behind PlayStation Plus’ most expensive tier.
The general idea though is that you gain access to, in many cases, several hours of major new releases.
With an ordinary demo, you might be looking at 20 to 30 minutes, with many of these pertaining to games you might not have heard of.
The 36 new additions were spotted by Reddit user MikeRyan87.
The line-up includes Game Trials for Cairn, Forever Skies, Inscription, Beseige, Animal Well, Balatro, 1000x Resist, Absolum, Hades, Hell Is Us, Unbeatable, Sektori, Tunic, Cult of the Lamb, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Satisfactory, Them, The Alters, Temtem, Situation, Sea of Stars, Fishbowl, Dreams of Another, Demonschool, and Despelote.
There’s plenty of choice there, so allow me to tempt you with a few recommendations.
Cairn is a GOTY contender for us at GAMINGbible. It earned our first perfect score of 10 of the year, with our own Olly Smith writing, “As soon as I rolled the credits on Cairn, I immediately started a new playthrough and began anew. That’s when I realised the thing I had just experienced was special.”

It’s a survival-adventure that sees you attempt to climb a mountain as you manage protagonist Aava’s needs and discover the secrets of the mountain along the way.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is also well worth checking out given that this 2021 hit has a big-budget sequel coming this year in the form of Kena: Scars of Kosmora.
It’s a Ghibli-esque adventure that follows spirit guide Kena who must put a stop to a corrupting blight preventing souls from moving on.
With some accessible Dark Souls-esque combat, it’s a game that’s full of surprises.
I’ll also draw your attention to Fishbowl, although I could quite easily praise every game on the list above.

Created by a two-person team, this indie coming-of-age story landed just one month ago and follows central character Alo who moves to a new city and navigates grief, change, and heartbreak.
Aesthetically, it’s comparable to Stardew Valley but it’s perhaps more akin to Life is Strange in the way that the narrative moves you.
While it’s a shame that these games aren’t all available in full, you should be able to use these Game Trials to find a couple of titles that you’re interested in picking up.
