PlayStation Plus’ extra and premium tiers have finally been updated for April with just eight free games arriving this month.
Extra tier users can now enjoy Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5), The Crew Motorfest (PS5/PS4), Football Manager 26 Console (PS5), Warriors: Abyss (PS5/PS4), Squirrel with a Gun (PS5), The Casting of Frank Stone (PS5), and Monster Train (PS5).
Over on the premium tier, it’s simply Wild Arms 4 (PS5/PS4) that’s newly up for grabs.
The arrival of new games always falls alongside the reveal of what’ll be leaving both catalogues in one month’s time.
It’s now been confirmed that eight games will unfortunately be leaving in May, matching the number of arrivals in April.

There’s also quite a number of major games set to be cut this month with lengthy platinums for those who enjoy achieving 100% completion.
May’s departing games were originally spotted by Reddit user biirudaichuki as they’ve now appeared on the PlayStation Plus hub over in Japan.
These departing titles should be confirmed worldwide in the coming hours. Typically, the line-up remains the same worldwide with the odd variation of a single game.
With all of that being said, you have just under four weeks to enjoy the following games: Moto GP 25, Sand Land, Soul Hackers 2, Mortal Shell, Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition, Control Ultimate Edition, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, and The Dark Pictures: Little Hope.

As you can see, we’re losing some real bangers.
Control Ultimate Edition is one such heavy hitter that is departing at the worst possible time.
With sequel Control Resonant set to launch this year, it’s likely many will have been planning a playthrough of the original outing.
It takes roughly 11.5 hours to roll credits on the main story, so you do still have time to tick this one off your list, but you’re looking at 29 hours completion for platinum hunters. That’s according to HowLongToBeat.
It’s a similar story for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan and The Dark Pictures: Little Hope.
The Dark Pictures is, as you’re likely aware, an anthology series from Supermassive Games which means you don’t need to play all instalments with each serving as a standalone adventure.
That being said, PlayStation Plus users might have been planning a Man of Medan or Little Hope playthrough in order to get in the mood for Directive 8020.
Directive 8020, although having dropped The Dark Pictures branding, is the latest instalment. It's set to launch on 12 May.
Sand Land, Soul Hackers 2, Moto GP 25, Mortal Shell, and Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition don’t particularly link to any new releases, but they’re all great games.
It’s definitely one of the strongest departing line-ups we’ve seen, by which I mean gamers will be feeling the heaviest loss.
These titles are due to stick around for just under four more weeks, so do get cracking on any that you’d like to play.
