PlayStation Plus gamers urged to check out 'super under-appreciated' RPG while it's free

Purr-fect recommendation

PlayStation Plus subscribers looking for a new game to play are being urged to check out a popular RPG collection available on the service.

PlayStation Plus is a godsend for gamers on a budget. If you can spare a few quid per month, you'll have access to hundreds of games ranging from brand new titles to the old classics.

With so many games to choose from, there are bound to be moments when you might have to rely on recommendations from other players to find something new.

Be sure to not miss PlayStation - The Concert, featuring music from some of Sony's greatest games.

Over on the PlayStation Plus Reddit page, subscribers are now being urged to play Cat Quest and its sequel, Cat Quest 2. One gamer even calls it "super under-appreciated".

Cat Quest is an action RPG where you play as a cat on a quest (yeah, no kidding). Set in the kingdom of Felingard, you set out to rescue your sister who has been kidnapped by an evil white cat.

Cat Quest features action combat where you level up your equipment by defeating harder bosses, and also has multiple quests and dungeon crawling.

Don't expect anything too deep on the level of Skyrim or The Witcher, but it can provide a fun 10-15 hours of gameplay.

It's also a good recommendation for children and parents to play together, mainly due to the subject matter. There are plenty of cat puns and jokes littered throughout it which can give you a good chuckle from time to time.

Players are also recommending its sequel Cat Quest 2.

It takes the same formula of the first game and adds an extra co-op mode, where a second player controls a dog.

Aside from that, it plays pretty similarly to the first game, but is a good recommendation if you liked the first.

Both Cat Quest games have scored pretty well, with the first holding a 76 average rating on OpenCritic, and the second having a 77 average rating on OpenCritic.

Cat Quest and Cat Quest 2 are available to play on PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium. Both of them can be played on PS4 and PS5.
