PlayStation Plus free games lineup for July 2025 off to a troubling start

PlayStation Plus July 2025 is already off to a rough start with some fantastic games set to leave Sony’s subscription service.

As great as the top two tiers can be, namely PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, it’s never a good idea to form any sort of bond with a game you like the look of.

Unlike the bottom tier, PS Plus Essential, games in the upper two tiers will likely leave at some point to make way for something new. It’s why I’m always hesitant about starting any lengthy RPGs in particular.

Starting a game on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, only to have it leave shortly after, and then not being able to purchase the full game for a while, is always a frustrating scenario, to say the least.

With that in mind, as spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, four games are set to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in mid-July 2025, and it includes some bangers.

Those four games leaving Sony’s subscription service are: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Job Simulator and Remnant 2.

To be honest, all those games are quite notable, especially Dying Light 2: Stay Human and the classic PS Vita remaster, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, in my opinion.

In our review of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, we said: “Techland’s long-awaited zombie RPG mostly delivers the goods in style, providing an expansive - if not entirely original - open-world playground that’s filled with epic action, pleasingly brutal combat, and some difficult choices.”

So, if any of those four games tickles your fancy and you want to get at least one finished before they leave PlayStation Plus next month, you might want to get started sooner, rather than later.

As always, we’ll keep you updated when Sony drops information on what new goodness is coming to PlayStation Plus in the days ahead.
