A popular PlayStation Plus RPG has been hailed as one of the best open-world games that you can play right now, courtesy of the subscription service.

There are tons of games that you can play with Sony’s subscription service, PlayStation Plus, especially if you subscribe to the Extra or Premium tiers. In fact, there’s so much content that it can feel a little overwhelming to decide what you should play next.

However, one game that comes recommended by PlayStation Plus users is the 2018 open-world RPG, from Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Coincidentally as I write this, I fired up this game only yesterday.

“Assassin's Creed Odyssey is an action-adventure game where you choose the hero you want to become,” reads the synopsis of the game.

“Embark on an epic journey from outcast to living legend to uncover the secrets of your past and change the fate of Ancient Greece. Fight in visceral battles on both land and sea to become a true hero.”

“What are the best open-world games on PS Plus Extra?” asked Redditor Obbester789. “I've played Ghost of Tsushima and Red Dead Redemption 2, so I’m looking for similar games to enjoy.”

“Assassin's Creed Odyssey is well worth playing - beautiful open world and absolutely tons of stuff to explore and do,” replied McUpChuck.

“I'm about 10 hours into Odyssey, and it's already the best Assassin's Creed I've ever played. Everything about this game has me mesmerised in a way I haven't been since playing The Witcher 3 for the first time,” said user Mosha Winter.

“Assassin's Creed Shadows is the best game in the series so far in many respects, and it is a very, very good game, and I have not finished it yet, but Odyssey is still the best Assassin's Creed game,” exclaimed abaddonbrain.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It’s also benefited from a new-gen 60 frames-per-second update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
