PlayStation Plus subscribers have been debating what the “best-looking games on PS Plus” are, and it seems they’ve come to a pretty resounding conclusion.

The thing is, personally, I think they’re wrong.

There are a lot of great-looking games on PlayStation Plus. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla, Returnal– we’re kind of spoiled for choice, really.

However, subscribers think they’ve discovered exactly which PlayStation 5 title looks the best over in a thread on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit, and while I agree to some degree… eh, I think my choice is better.

“Horizon Forbidden West, no contest IMO, especially since it's open world with no load screens,” commented user Sinyr.

“Agreed. I still think it’s the best looking game I ever ever played,” replied user MyRapNameWouldBeKirk.

“Maybe Demon's Souls edges it slightly but HFW just seems more impressive because of its size, art style and open world.”

You shouldn't miss out on Balatro on the essential tier from 6 May.

Personally, I think if we are talking about which PlayStation 5 games look the best, my vote would go to Demon's Souls.

Horizon Forbidden West looks incredible, and I absolutely get the argument that it’s the better-looking game when you take the more open side of its open world into consideration, but man… the 2020 remake of Demon’s Souls is the first time I played a current generation title thought thought, “Damn, so this is what this console is capable of.”

That’s why it’s all the more frustrating that Sony seems to be wasting all of the talent at developer Bluepoint Games, especially after news of their live-service title being cancelled broke.

Actually, now that I think about it, Sony really has been wasting a lot of their talent. That wave of cancelled titles a year back puts into perspective how much time they’ve wasted.

Here’s hoping Bluepoint Games gets to put all their talent to work soon, because I’m extremely excited to see their next project.
