A new free game included in PlayStation Plus is said to offer up to 800 hours of gameplay if you go for full completion, adding great value to the subscription service.

Yesterday, Sony announced the next three titles coming to PlayStation Plus Essential for May 2025, and it includes some fantastic titles offering a little something for everyone. One of those titles is ARK: Survival Ascended.

Check out the ARK: Survival Ascended trailer below!

Released in 2023, ARK: Survival Ascended is a modern remake powered by Unreal Engine 5, based on the original game that launched in 2017.

Granted, ARK: Survival Ascended was a bit buggy at launch (and some bugs likely still exist), but from what I hear, the game is in a much better state now.

“ARK is reimagined from the ground up into the next generation of video game technology with Unreal Engine 5,” reads the description of the game.

“Form a tribe, tame and breed hundreds of unique dinosaurs and primaeval creatures, explore, craft, build, and fight your way to the top of the food chain. Your new world awaits.”

“I've been wanting to buy ARK: Survival Ascended, so I'm happy it's on PS Plus,” said Gamechin on Twitter.

“ARK is lowkey lit, nice,” replied guldberg_adam.

“Y’all are sleeping on ARK, it’s a really good game,” suggested realjaayshot.

To say that ARK: Survival Ascended is a massive game would be an understatement. For example, according to HowLongToBeat.com, if you partake in everything it has to offer, you can easily spend 800 hours with the game.

So, if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential and want something to pass the time this summer, look no further than ARK: Survival Ascended.

ARK: Survival Ascended is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

We’ll keep you posted when Sony announces the next batch of games for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers in the coming weeks.
