If you’re a fan of FromSoftware, in particular, Elden Ring and Bloodborne and are looking for a new Soulsborne fix, then this recent free PlayStation Plus title has you covered.

Each month new titles are added to Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service whether it be the Essential, Extra or Premium tier. Of course, the higher subscription that you pay for, the more games and perks that you’ll have available to you.

Check out the Steelrising trailer below!

Included in the PlayStation Plus Essential line-up for February 2024 are the multiplayer 4v4 shooter Foamstars, the stylish arena sports shooter Rollerdrome and finally, the topic of today’s discussion, Steelrising is one for fans of developer FromSoftware.

“Paris, 1789. The French Revolution has been suppressed with bloodshed by Louis XVI and his merciless mechanical army. Aegis, a mysterious automaton masterpiece, must confront the king's army alone to save history in this challenging action RPG,” reads the description of Steelrising.

Developed by Spiders and published by Nacon, Steelrising may not have the gloomy rub of Bloodborne or the AAA shine of Elden Ring, but by the looks of things, it’s a game that should more than scratch that itch. What’s more, if you’re new to FromSoftware titles and are looking for a way in, then Steelriing could be your ideal introduction.

“If you enjoy Souls games and the basic gameplay loop or if you’re interested in the genre but wary of the difficulty, this is a good game, said Redditor DG83GamingEnthusiast recommending Steelrising to members of the thread and judging by its follow-up comments, many of the users in the forum share the same sentiment.

Steelrising is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You’ll have until the end of Monday, 5 March 2024 to add the game to your PS Plus library before the next batch of Essential titles become available.
