It’s set to be quite the day for PlayStation fans. Between the State of Play showcase and the announcement of the latest PlayStation Plus line-up, we’re in for a treat.

Speaking of the latter, it has now finally arrived. Before we dive in, I should remind you that you have just a few more days to grab January’s essential tier offerings. Those are A Plague Tale: Requiem, Nobody Saves The World, and Evil West. All three have garnered favourable responses from PlayStation Plus subscribers so I’d recommend you add them all to your library. After all, there’s no harm in doing so. On 6 February, they’ll disappear for good and be replaced with the following new line-up.

As previously confirmed, Foamstars will land as a day one release. Take a look at the game in action below.

February’s essential tier line-up consists of Foamstars (PS4/5), Rollerdrome (PS4/5), and Steelrising (PS5).

It was previously confirmed that the line-up would feature Foamstars as a day one launch - and I think it’s a great idea. It’s the kind of game that likely isn’t racking up pre-orders but is perhaps of interest to many people. Having it included in PlayStation Plus for a month allows Foamstars to (hopefully) establish a solid player base and good reviews via word-of-mouth. The previous playtest showed potential, albeit if it was a tad buggy. Hopefully, those creases have now been ironed out.

If you’re not familiar with the other two monthly games, Rollerdrome is a critically acclaimed third-person shooter that sees you attempt to take out your opponents while zooming around a skating drone. Steelrising is an action RPG set in an alternate Paris amidst the French Revolution.

That’s not all. Premium subscribers can now enjoy a trial of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 while a free stuff pack is available to all for Fall Guys, featuring Ratchet, Clank, and Aloy skins.
