Deciding which game to play next on PlayStation Plus can be difficult, if you’re a subscriber to the extra or premium tiers, that is.
We’ve all been there, where you end up scrolling for hours instead of just committing to something you like the look of.
It’s with this issue in mind that I’d like to try and help you out by offering a recommendation, one that’s been described as “my new favourite game ever” by one PlayStation Plus subscriber.
For those with access to the extra tier, you can now enjoy As Dusk Falls, a 2022 interactive adventure game from Interior Night and Xbox Game Studios.

It’s very much a title that’ll appeal to those of you who enjoy the likes of Life is Strange, Detroit: Become Human, or Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.
As Dusk Falls spans three decades, with the story kicking off in 1998 with a robbery-gone-wrong.
Just as you might in Life is Strange, players will make important dialogue choices which’ll determine the outcome of the game.
“Replay the story again and again to uncover vastly different outcomes for the characters and explore hidden nuances behind every decision. Will your characters survive unscathed? What kind of people will they ultimately become?” the synopsis teases.

Over on Metacritic, As Dusk Falls boasts a respectable Metascore of 80 on PlayStation, and it seems to be faring even better with PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Subscribers are full of praise
“My new favourite game ever,” began Reddit user OkInterview3864.
“This game just came to extra and premium for free. It is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. A completely story based narrative choose your own adventure.”

They continued, “I wish there were more games like this.”
“Gonna get the plat for this before it's taken down,” added JamesCooke91.
Given that As Dusk Falls was only recently added, you don’t need to worry about it departing PlayStation Plus any time soon.
According to How Long to Beat, it should only take you around seven hours to complete its main story.

You’re looking at eight and a half hours for side content too, or 14 hours for completionist runs.
As a narrative branching game, it’s perhaps worth pointing out that you won’t be able to unlock all trophies in a single playthrough due to some tying into the varying plot threads.
Given that As Dusk Falls isn’t a huge time sink, I’d definitely consider giving it a go if you enjoy choice-based games.
