PlayStation Plus Glitch Lets Users Grab 10/10 Game For Free, But Act Fast

Certain PlayStation users appear to have netted themselves a free game courtesy of a PlayStation Plus glitch, and it's a great one at that.

If you enjoy being swept away by a game’s story, Life is Strange 2 is not one to miss. This beloved entry in the Life is Strange series departs from the tales of Max and Chloe to follow two of my favourite characters - brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz.

While it ended up with a score of 78 on Metacritic, I happen to think it’s slightly better than that - and I’m not alone.

GamingTrend, for example, awarded the title a perfect score of 10, while it boasts a respectable score of 4.43 on the PlayStation Store. On Steam, it sits at ‘Very Positive’.

Previously, you could access Life is Strange 2 for free courtesy via PlayStation Plus’ extra tier, but the game was removed from the platform almost one year ago.

By all accounts though, PlayStation users across PS4 and PS5 are just now realising that Life is Strange 2 is somehow still playable.

“Life is Strange 2 [is] completely playable after being removed from PS Plus,” began Reddit user Puzzleheaded-Sir8673.

“I played Life is Strange 2 when it was on PS Plus and downloaded the episode DLCs as well. After the game got removed from PS Plus, I uninstalled it,” they continued.

“But in my library, it says Life is Strange Episode 1 is free, and it says I already purchased all the episode DLCs. The whole game and episodes even work after re-downloading the free version and all the DLC episodes work.”

Isn’t that unexpected? Of course, the catch here is that glitch is seemingly only going to be accessible to those who downloaded Life is Strange 2 from PlayStation Plus during its live tenure.

Your Days With The Free Game Are Likely Numbered

However, this loophole seems to have worked for quite a few users.

I’m in the midst of downloading the free first episode myself as I also claimed Life is Strange 2 but ran out of time to play before its removal from PlayStation Plus.

I feel it’s important to point out here that if you do successfully manage to gain access to Life Is Strange 2, your days with said title are likely numbered.

This isn’t the first free game glitch to surface on PlayStation and usually, the problem is rectified. In other words, expect your free access to be revoked.

Sometimes, this can take mere days. In some instances, it can be months before Sony catches on.

Life is Strange 2 can typically be completed in 16 hours or so, so if you do gain free access, I’d lock in and get through to those end credits before Sony and Square Enix pull the game from your library. Weekend sorted!
