PlayStation gamers sat on free PlayStation Plus access they never knew about

Well, that's useful

What is better than video games? Well, free access to them and some PlayStation owners may be missing out on a free PlayStation Plus subscription.

PlayStation Plus may be hit or miss when it comes to its monthly offerings but being able to access hit releases at no extra cost is not something we can complain about too much.

Check out the trailer for Monster Hunter: Wilds below!

Especially considering the price of video games these days.

However, maintaining a PS Plus subscription is still an investment so being able to get one for free would be quite useful indeed.

Luckily, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users can find a freebie in an easily-missed place.

According to one user over on r/PlayStationPlus, players can find the code for fourteen days of PS+ Premium on a Bravia television.

“If you have Sony Bravia TV, check your My BRAVIA app,” they shared.

“You might have got a 14-day Premium! Don't know if it's region locked. I'm located in Germany.”

So there you go.

If you own a Bravia television, heading to the app may see you rewarded with a free two-week subscription.

It is unclear if this will be available with every Bravia model and we are also unsure if it is region-locked, with one US user saying they do not have access, but it is worth looking nonetheless.

According to one reply in the comments, “Presumably, it's only the newer models, but no idea on the specific cutoff year for when "older" ends and "newer" begins.

My Bravia from 2008 is still going strong as a backup TV, but it doesn't have the "My Bravia" app where a deal like this would appear.”

Another user was delighted with the news: “Thanks for the info! My Bravia TV is 6 years old and I got the 14 day trial in the "My Bravia" App.

I just wanted to play the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta 2 days early for free.”
