If you’ve spent the last week or so in the throngs of festive merriment, you may have missed the announcement of Sony’s latest PlayStation Plus drop.

That’s right. The first PlayStation Plus essential tier line-up of the year has arrived and I have to say that it’s a solid month in my eyes. It’s no secret that 2023 left many subscribers feeling disappointed. Price rises were followed by lacklustre game line-ups across all tiers. Sony did add cloud streaming and the Sony Pictures Core film catalogue to its premium tier, but that wasn’t enough to win over dissatisfied consumers. Already though, 2024 is off to a hopeful start. All PlayStation Plus subscribers can now bag themselves £120 worth of games, including an excellent 2022 stealth-based adventure.

I’m talking about A Plague Tale: Requiem. Take a look at the game in action below.

This month, you can download A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves The World. Typically, A Plague Tale: Requiem will set you back around £49.99, as will Evil West. Nobody Saves The World costs £19.99, giving this line-up a collective value of £120. I strongly urge you to download and sample all three.

A Plague Tale: Requiem comes from developer Asobo Studio. This 2022 action-adventure stealth release was the follow up to 2019’s very successful A Plague Tale: Innocence. Siblings Amicia and Hugo are back, searching for a cure to Hugo’s blood disease. The duo must outrun and dash past soldiers of the Inquisition as well as the returning hordes of rats. It’s certainly a chilling game that’ll have you holding your breath.

Evil West is another 2022 release. This one comes from Flying Wild Hog and is a third-person shooter. While Evil West has its faults, there’s still plenty of fun to be had. Players assume the role of vampire hunter Jesse Rentier. Think Red Dead Redemption mixed with Left 4 Dead.

Finally, we have Nobody Saves The World. It just so happens that this game also landed in 2022, this time from DrinkBox Studios. In this RPG dungeon-crawler, players control Nobody - a little blob of a fella who wakes up in a magical world with no knowledge of who he is. All three games are available to download now.
