In an attempt to push the boundaries of community gaming for PlayStation, Sony has released a brand-new feature that many of us have been begging for for years.
Whether or not you buy a brand-new game can depend on a variety of different caveats: its price, previous titles from the developer, or in this case, its rating across various online stores.
It is not unusual to check out a game’s rating on sites such as Steam or Metacritic if you are on PC or the PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox Stores if you’re on console, ahead of making that purchase.
That is why Sony’s latest feature is about to help the process a whole lot more.

After many years of pleading from users, Sony has finally added user reviews to the PlayStation Store.
Up until now, players have only been able to rate their played games using a 1-5 star rating but now, they will be able to write a review with a 4000 character limit.
Twitter user Radec showed us an example of what this new UI could look like and it is clear that users will be able to enter the game title, star rating, and finally, a review.
They will also be able to mark if any of their reviews contains spoiler content so it is even better for those who want to see if the game is worth it without having anything ruined.

At the time of writing, this brand-new feature is only available on the website version of the PlayStation Store but we can assume that it will arrive on console and the PlayStation App soon.
As you can imagine, this newly implemented feature is already being received well by PlayStation users who took to social media to share their thoughts.
“Wait, that’s fantastic,” one user shared.
Another agreed, adding, “Nice, that's pretty cool.”

However, user Ilona pointed out an interesting misstep.
“That’s a very good idea!” They shared. “It’s just weird that you can’t rate a game if you own the physical.”
As it stands, it seems as though this new review feature can only be selected if you have bought the game digitally, and not if you own a physical copy.
It is unclear if this is a mere oversight and something that Sony will add in the future or if there is some other reason behind it.

Either way, if you want to show some of your favourite (digital) PlayStation games some love, make sure to take advantage of this brand-new feature.
