In recent months, Sony has regularly been releasing new and exciting updates to its PlayStation services and it seems as though another helpful feature has also just been added.
Earlier this month saw Sony finally add the ability to add your very own reviews to titles on the PlayStation Store rather than just having to rely on a standard star rating system.
With that feature being received well by users, it seems as though another addition is already here and this time it will help out with the deal-seekers amongst us.
Spotted by GIThrow over on r/PS5, Sony has now added the ability to see a game’s lowest price over the past 30 days during a sale.

Put simply, if a game is on sale, you will be able to see what its lowest price has been over a one-month period.
Although it seems like a useful feature on the surface, it is only when you think about the logistics that things become a bit more complicated.
First of all, this feature will only be available for a title which is currently on sale, not when it is at full price.
Additionally, a 30-day period does not seem like enough considering that most games will go on sale around once a month, meaning that the lowest price will not fluctuate.

As a result, users took to the post’s comments to share their thoughts.
“30 days is far too short of a window since games typically go on sale every 8-12 weeks which means the lowest price in the last 30 days will almost always be the regular price rendering this new feature as nothing but manipulation,” one user claimed.
“Changing it to 90 days would be cool so you can actually compare the previous discount with the current one without going to a third party tracking website.”
However, another user felt differently.

“Neat! I wasn't aware of this and I wait for sales for any and all games I buy so this will definitely help with that even more. Thanks for posting this,” they shared.
The feature will definitely help to keep track of a title’s deals so you can wait out the next big sale but, as mentioned, having it set to 30-days only does come with complications.
Additionally, this feature is also only available on PlayStation consoles and not on the PS App but there is no doubt that it will be added to the latter relatively soon.
For now, it seems as though Sony will have to do a bit more in order to compete with those third party tracking sites.
