PlayStation bonus free download available now, no PS Plus needed

Another fab freebie is available for PS fans

Who says December has to be the only gift-giving month of the year? Not PlayStation, that’s for sure.

Yet another bonus freebie is available for all PS players who seek it, it’s simply a case of using your sharp intellect to unlock it. That and your PlayStation account, but really, it’s the use of your wits that’s most important here.

What I’m (very poorly) hinting at is a free download that requires no PS Plus, only the need for you to play one of five games from those listed on the PlayStation Stars Campaigns page. They are as follows:

  • Viewfinder
  • Superliminal
  • The Witness
  • The Talos Principle 2
  • Puzzling Places

Have you checked out our The Last of Us Part II Remastered review yet? It's a good 'un!

As you’ll have likely spotted for yourselves, these games all have one thing in common: they’re puzzle-heavy experiences. To succeed in any of these titles, you need to flex your problem-solving skills as the PlayStation blog suggests, “Sharpen your mind with these beautiful puzzle games. Each one offers a unique blend of brain-bending puzzles and eye-catching artwork to put your problem-solving skills to the test.”

Having become available for players today, 18 January, it’s the latest in an array of previous campaigns, each with its own theme and collection of games to choose from. If you’ve played any of these games before, we’re sorry to say that that won’t count towards you unlocking the free download – you need to play the games now for the Synaptic Feedback Digital Collectible to be yours.

The digital download does little besides show off your prowess as a problem-busting whizz, but what other reasons do you need to want to unlock it?

If you’re not a PS Stars member yet, don’t worry a second longer because it’s free to sign up to meaning you can take advantage of this freebie even if you’ve never bothered with PS Stars before.
