Prospective PlayStation 6 gamers have already slammed Sony’s next-gen console, many of whom don't see the appeal.
Despite Sony registering the trademarks for upcoming PlayStation consoles, including the PS10, the PS6 is yet to be officially announced. That being said, when that inevitable announcement arrives, it seems like not everyone will be keen.

Before I jump into the comments made by Reddit users, I already have a major concern with the PlayStation 6 and that is its price.

Not taking into account a recent PlayStation 5 console price hike, as well as the cost increase of consoles and games issued by Nintendo and Xbox, going by the price of the PS5 Pro alone, we can expect next-gen gaming to get even more expensive.
At the time of writing, the PlayStation 5 Pro costs £699.99, compared to the price of the standard PlayStation 5 with a disc drive, which comes in at £529.99.
When the PlayStation 4 Pro launched in November 2016, it had an RRP of £349.99, which was roughly the same price as the original PS4 that was released three years earlier.
So it might be safe to assume that the PlayStation 6 could at least be the same price as the PS5 Pro or even more expensive, which could very well put off even the most loyal of Sony customers.

“PlayStation 6 chip design is nearing completion as Sony and AMD partnership forges ahead,” posted Reddit user fatso486, sharing an article from TechSpot.
“I just don't see the appeal of the hypothetical PS6 at this point,” replied Nointies. “The hardware hasn't improved enough to justify it quite yet, in my opinion.”
“I have big doubts Sony can develop anything twice as powerful as the PS5 Pro in just three years,” exclaimed Not_Yet_Italian_1990. “Hopefully, I'm wrong."
“I think the performance uplift will be plenty, and similar in scale to previous generational uplift,” suggested marmarama. “Whether it translates to anything meaningful in games, that's another matter.”

We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for the PlayStation 6, but I doubt Sony will be making an official reveal anytime soon. As always, we’ll keep you posted when that happens.
