Leaked specs for the PlayStation 6 reckon it’s going to be a powerhouse of a console, perhaps one that’ll finally compete with PCs.
The line between console and PC is getting blurrier and blurrier as PlayStation and Xbox continue to release hardware more advanced than what came before.
While PCs are still the top dogs in terms of performance you can’t deny that current-gen consoles are impressive, which makes it even more painful when most of the games are re-releases and remakes that don’t take full advantage of the new hardware.
The PlayStation 6 sounds like it’ll be an exception though, as with a console these powerful developers would be foolish to not put their very best projects onto it.

According to the latest rumours the PlayStation 6 will be capable of raytracing and will apparently run faster than an RTX 5080, an impressive feat if it’s true.
It’ll also be capable of 4K 120fps which should work wonders for whatever new games are being developed for it, though keep in mind you’ll need a decent TV/monitor to support those kinds of visuals.
While this sounds fantastic there is a slight catch, as another rumour states the PlayStation 6 will be backwards compatible and not just for PlayStation 5 games. It’s rumoured PlayStation 4 games will be supported as well.
Don’t get me wrong this is great news but it does imply that we’ll be in for another wave of enhanced versions of older games.

If you want a full breakdown of the rumoured specs for the PlayStation 6 look no further than a video by Moore Is Not Dead on YouTube, who explains what’s being said and what it means for your gaming experience far better than I could.
In layman’s terms though the PlayStation 6 is sounding more and more like a worthy upgrade, though it’ll be the price more than anything that’ll determine how many units it sells.
