PlayStation 6's first AAA game is just what we were hoping for

Studios are already planning big

We may not know when the PlayStation 6 is set to launch but what we do know is that many studios are already planning the titles that will be released alongside it and that includes one of its first AAA games.

Rumours have been circulating for months surrounding the launch of the PlayStation 6 with the most recent one hinting at 2028 or 2029 at the latest.

However, with the majority of PlayStation users happy to stick with their PlayStation 5 for the time being, it seems as though developers still have a few years left to work on which titles they will be bringing to the PS6.

That is definitely the case for the studio Firesprite who, despite being hit with layoffs and project cancellations over the past year, are still turning its attention to an AAA title which will be released on the PlayStation 6.

The PlayStation studio is perhaps best known for Horizon: Call of the Mountain for VR but it seems as though an AAA title has become a priority.

Firesprite is remaining somewhat tight-lipped about the AAA project so far but according to leaks, players can expect a dark horror game that will perform at 60FPS and 4K.

So how do we know that it will be a PlayStation 6 release?

Well, the studio has previously stated that it is working on “next-generation hardware technologies” in various job listings and with the unannounced game still being in the early stages of development, it is doubtful that it will be out for quite a few years which brings it straight into PS6 territory.

According to yet another job listing (discovered over on Reddit), Firesprite is currently working on an “ambitious, AAA project” which will have “a heavy focus on atmosphere, storytelling, player agency and immersion into ground-breaking territory on next-generation hardware technologies.”

Could this be one of the PlayStation 6’s first AAA releases?

Well, only time will tell as both the PlayStation 6 and Firesprite’s project have not yet been officially revealed.
