PlayStation 5 price cut makes it cheaper than it's ever been

Have you been wanting a shiny new PlayStation 5 to call your very own, but haven’t wanted to fork out all that cash? Well, recent price cuts mean it’s cheaper than ever to buy one!

When we say cheap, don’t get your hopes up thinking the console now only costs a couple of bucks – we’re sorry to say the PS 5 will still be a considerable expense to many. Still, its price reduction makes it slightly more affordable, and currently prices it as the cheapest it’s ever been since it launched in 2020.

Baldur's Gate 3 is coming... watch the launch trailer below!

On 13 August, Comic Book reported that Monoprice is selling the PS 5 standard edition for $439.99, which is $60 cheaper than usual. Due to how good a deal this is, purchases are limited to two per customer.

This isn’t the only store that’s reduced the price tag of the PS 5, as countless other brands from have also been partaking in price reductions thanks to Sony’s ‘Back to School’ promo. The current price for PS 5's will run until 19 August, according to Comic Book.

For anyone UK based looking to get their hands on this deal, sites like Monoprice ship to the UK. Better still, at its current price, it’s cheaper to purchase from there than the likes of Argos or Amazon. However, as with anything you order internationally, custom charges come into play, so make sure to check those before taking the deal.

Now’s the ideal time to get a new-gen console, especially a PlayStation, because Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on the platform on 6 September. As all PS owners will know, it’s been a bumpy ride to get to this release, even more so after many were fooled into thinking the release date had changed.

If, however, you’re wanting a new-gen console to enjoy Starfield, which is also launching on 6 Sept, we have to remind you that there’s currently no PS version available. As disappointing as that is, Xbox and PC gamers can look forward to an epic space adventure boasting multiple factions, religions, and romance options.
