The PlayStation 5 Pro has finally been unveiled, and its price tag has left fans unimpressed. Fortunately, there's a silver lining to all of this: a massive price cut for the PS5.

Earlier this week, the PlayStation 5 Pro was revealed, as was its launch date.

However, jubilation at finally getting a first glimpse of the upgraded PS5 soon turned to disappointment as the realisation of its steep cost set in.

The initial £699 price is bad enough, but then there’s a major hidden cost that actually makes that payout harder hitting on your bank account.

Needless to say, Sony fans are looking for another way to get a new console.

If you’ve already got a PS5, the news that it’s receiving a massive price slash won’t be much good to you; however, if you’re looking to upgrade from a PS4 you’re in luck.

Sony will soon sell refurbished PS5 consoles at a reduced price.

As shared by VGC’s Twitter account, “Sony will soon sell refurbished PS5 consoles at a reduced price. A refurbished PS5 with a disc drive will cost £389 / $399, a saving of £90 / $100.”

Granted, the hardware isn’t brand spanking new, but it’s likely you won’t even notice that once you’ve got it in front of you.

Besides, that’s quite a nice discount, especially compared to the staggering cost of the PS5 Pro.

For some users this deal is already active.

“It's already on sale in Portugal at major retailers,” posted @iHuGi.

“Well, I'll be. The OG models are making a comeback,” shared another user, “Love the box design.”

There are some gamers in the comments who believe the PS5 Pro is the way forward regardless of its cost, but they do appear to be few in number.

That said, not everyone thinks this PS5 discount is worthwhile.

Even if you’re not going to take advantage of this offer, you can’t deny it’s a sweet deal.

As of yet, there doesn’t seem to be a date when this deal will go live, it just says coming soon.
