The lessening of the previously Iron-Curtain level boundaries between different gaming platforms has only been a very good thing for players worldwide, with millions of people the world over now able to play with their friends.
The difference between Xbox and PC is becoming harder to distinguish by the day (a trend which will continue if the company has their way), whilst the initially more resistant Sony have begun to see the potential benefits.
As such, console exclusives are rarer than ever before, and whilst that might make some experiences feel a little less special, there's no reason that everyone should be able to have the same experiences if they have already forked out for an equivalent piece of hardware.
In even further good news, more games from the PlayStation 5 are about to head over to everyone's favourite PC storefront Steam, and there's some really great games in the mix this time around.

As many of you will now know, Sony's current strategy is to give their biggest exclusive titles a year to breathe on the home console, before bringing them to other platforms like Steam.
We already know Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is on the way to Steam, with many speculating that huge first party PlayStation Studios releases like Death Stranding 2 could follow in relatively short order.
If you aren't already convinced for some reason, the figures back up that Sony won't be switching strategies any time soon.
Recent estimates claim that the company has made somewhere in the region of $1.5 billion since they started the process, selling 43 million copies of their titles.

In a post sharing that news on Reddit, the responses were filled with players who wanted to request the games they would like to see in the future, as well as other ways the platforms could promote player friendly integration.
"The fact that they can look at how well exclusives preform on other platforms, AND STILL NOT GIVE US BLOODBORNE."
"They could charge 89.99 and it would still sell like hot cakes," one comment read.
"I would LOVE to see cross-progression is these games. I have Helldivers 2 on both Steam and PS5 but since the PS5 is my main, I rarely touch the Steam version due to having to start all over again," another added,

The arrival of the Steam Machine will also be an interesting time in this process, given how many see it as more of a direct attempt by Valve to push into the space occupied by Sony, Nintendo and Xbox.
In a gaming industry that seems so uncertain across the board right now, it's nice to see that at least this one thing is headed in the right direction.
