Due to 2023 being an absolutely stellar year for video game releases, as good of a game as it is, it wouldn't be surprising if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor flew under the radar for some.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel to 2019’s critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. On Metacritic, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor scored a very respectable 85. However, its user score is much lower at just 6.7, likely due to the launch performance issues on PC.

Even when being played on PlayStation 5, I noticed some notable framerate dips which were at the time enough to put me off this otherwise fantastic game. Thankfully, after a series of updates, at least on PlayStation 5 and from my own experience, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in a much better state now.

In our review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we said: “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features that'll keep players engrossed for a long, long time.”

Yet, if you still had concerns with the performance issues of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, then that worry might soon be over, that’s at least according to a recent rumour. It is claimed on a recent episode of the XNC Podcast on YouTube, that sources say Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will soon be able to run at 4K and a super smooth 120 frames per second. However, that will only be possible on the rumoured PlayStation 5 Pro and not the current console.

Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, it wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility that games such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as well as a whole host of other PlayStation 5 games will get a huge fps boost on Sony’s next console. Only time will tell.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
