PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive Concord has already been taken offline with its developers exploring options regarding its future

Concord was only released on 23 August 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5 and just over a week following its launch, the game is being taken down and refunds automatically issued.

Developed by Firewalk Studios, Concord was instantly being roasted by fans following its reveal at State of Play in June this year with many labelling it as a Guardians of the Galaxy clone. Gamers then became annoyed when it was revealed Concord would be a premium-priced game despite sharing similarities with free-to-play shooters such as Overwatch 2.

In an open letter on the PlayStation Blog, Firewalk Studios’ game director Ryan Ellis said: ”Concord fans — we’ve been listening closely to your feedback since the launch of Concord on PlayStation 5 and PC and want to thank everyone who has joined the journey aboard the Northstar.”

“However, while many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognise that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended,” the statement continued. “Therefore, at this time, we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024, and explore options, including those that will better reach our players.”

The statement went on to say that while the path ahead is still being determined, full refunds will be issued to all those that purchased Concord on PC and PlayStation 5 whether it's bought via the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct. It was also confirmed that refunds will be issued for those who purchased via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

As for those who purchased Concord through other retailers, Firewalk Studios has instructed those to “refer to the refund process of the retailer you purchased it from to obtain your refund.” Once the refund has been issued, access to the game will no longer be available.
