PlayStation 5 gamer horrified to realise they've had their console upside-down for years

An easy mistake to make... maybe

We all have an embarrassing story that it would take a lot for us to admit to.

However, one PlayStation 5 user seemingly doesn’t share the same embarrassment after they took to r/TrueOffMyChest to share an unbelievable story about their experience with the Sony console.

Check out the brand-new Astro Bot inspired DualSense Controller below!

Released in 2020, the PlayStation 5 has had quite a journey.

After being impossible to get at launch due to stock shortages and scalpers being scalpers, it became one of the most sought after consoles of all time.

However, four years on, and with most people owning the current-gen unit, it has been the home to some incredible titles such as Horizon Forbidden West and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to name a few.

With a sleek new design and the ability to store it both vertically and horizontally, the PS5 is a big yet pretty console but according to one owner, it should have come with more instructions.

“Today, I learned something unimaginable about my PS5,” their post read.

The user goes on to explain how after putting a DVD into their PS5, they were presented with an error message which read "The disc inserted could not be read. It could be dirty and unreadable. Or it could be upside down."

They tried with yet another disc and were met with the same message.

With their discs not showing any signs of wear and tear, you can probably see where this is going.

Yep, they had been storing their PlayStation 5 upside down for over two years.

Unsurprisingly, a fellow Reddit user took to the comments to share their disbelief.

“Bro, you put your ....I’m speechless,” they said.

The original user replied: “Yeah, it was upside down for two years without me knowing and today I turned it upright. I am kind of speechless myself.”

So there you have it! Let us hope this is a one-off case.
