PlayStation Dropping 150 Hours Worth of Free Games to Keep You Inside This August

PlayStation Plus' latest offering has some genuinely brilliant games that are bound to take up much of your life.

PlayStation Plus is quietly on a very good run recently and the latest offering from Sony has some heavy hitters that will absorb a lot of your free time.

August's PS Plus line-up is headlined by Marvel's Spider-Man, which sees everyone's favourite web slinger take on Mister Negative after he threatens to unleash a deadly virus while in the process of taking over New York's criminal underworld.

While the game likely won't need an introduction to many, Insomniac Games' Spider-Man was one of the best games of the PS4 generation, blending intuitive movement and combat gameplay with stunning visuals and a remarkable rendition of New York itself.

Joining the fray is Mortal Kombat 1, confusingly serving as the 12th entry in the series overall. The game actually added several mechanics that make the game a lot more fun to play, though the microtransactions can be a little jarring after a while. For fun and often brutal fighting, however, there are few better options out there.

Earth Defense Force 6 is also available, a third-person shooter that can be played either solo or co-op.

One of the deepest games on the list is Unicorn Overlord, a tactical fantasy RPG with more than 50 hours of gameplay before a main story completion (according to HowLongtoBeat.com). Completionist runs can take more than 75 hours, so if you're looking for a game to dedicate your life to, this is likely the best bet.

Rounding out the list is Atelier Ryza 3 Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, Indika, Harold Halibut and Coral Island. For those of you who pay for the premium version of PlayStation Plus, you can also get your hands on Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, both of which remain standouts of the series and well worth a playthrough if you're a fan of the genre.
