It appears that a game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch has just been confirmed for PS5, according to a new leak.

While you should never expect gaming icons like Mario or Donkey Kong to appear on any platforms outside of Nintendo's control, nothing is stopping third-party publishers from releasing games on more platforms once the exclusivity window is up.

Considering we've had games like Hollow Knight and Shin Megami Tensei V originally released on Switch before coming to other consoles later, this is nothing new.

It now looks like a leaked store listing has revealed a new game is coming to PS5 that was previously exclusive to Nintendo Switch.

Disney Illusion Island, developed by Battletoads studio Dlala Studios and published by Disney itself, is a 2D metroidvania featuring classic Mickey Mouse characters.

The game was originally released in 2023 exclusively for the Switch, but it now appears to be launching on other platforms.

As spotted by Gematsu, a PlayStation Store listing for Disney Illusion Island was scraped by PSDeals. Since PSDeals scrapes data from Sony's own servers, we believe this to be a credible leak.

Given the wide appeal of Mickey Mouse, it's clear why Disney may want to expand its audience for the game to new players.

What's more, the listing appears to reveal the release date for the PS5 version as being 30th May, 2025. So it's not like we'll even be waiting long for the game to launch.

It's currently unknown if the game is also coming to other platforms like PC or Xbox.

We reviewed Disney Illusion Island back in 2023, with Kate saying in her review, "If you’re looking for a wholesome dose of Disney though, or an entryway into this genre, Illusion Island is a joyously fun gem with cross-generational appeal that I’ll be recommending non-stop to anyone who will listen."

In addition to Mickey Mouse, you can also play as Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck, and the game has many more references to classic Disney lore.

We'll wait for official confirmation from Sony or Disney. If the leak is real, an announcement should be made in the next few weeks.
