Marvel's Spider-Man 2 free download accidentally leaks early

In a year where leaks have been rife, what’s one more among friends? It would seem that a free download for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been prematurely revealed.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was easily one of the biggest games of 2023, with our very own Ewan Moore remarking on it being “an amazing fantasy”.

Naturally, many gamers quickly purchased the game to experience it for themselves.

However, if you’re someone who’s been waiting for a bargain to appear, the time could be upon us.

A free download for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has already been made available via PlayStation Plus Premium, however, it would seem that the full game is soon to join the subscription service.

Shared on Reddit’s gaming rumours and leaks subreddit, the Insomniac title has become part of the PS Plus Premium banner.

Big deal, right? After all, it’s likely to be an advert for the trial that’s available... Apparently, it isn’t that cut and dry.

Quite a few players believe it’s an accidental leak that the full game is coming to the top tier of the subscription service.

It’s not like such a move is outside the realms of possibility, especially with a trial already included for certain members.

This is a line of reasoning reinforced by FakeBrian who said, “I've noticed with PS Plus some of the big ticket games, particularly Sony games, only come to the service for 3 months.”

They added, “I think it's Sony playing both sides of the fence, they get the publicity of adding these things to the service but without any long term costs of having them always there.”

But is the inclusion of Spidey on the banner proof or is it just wishful thinking?

As always, this is one of those occasions where it’s best to take this accidental leak with a pinch of salt until official confirmation is made.

That said, given what we know of previous PS Plus titles being added, etc, this Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 free download is more than feasible, though likely not for several weeks yet.
