Legend Of Zelda Gets PlayStation Partnership We Never Saw Coming

The upcoming big screen adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is scheduled to arrive on May 7 2027, but even with all that time left to go, things are starting to ramp up ahead of release. As part of that, the new movie is starting to establish a social media presence, but the minefield of who to follow and who not to has reared its head once again.

As first reported by PushSquare, the movie has established its first social media profiles, including over on the artist formerly known as Twitter. Interestingly, this new X profile is only following PlayStation and Sony Pictures, with Nintendo absolutely nowhere to be seen.

Now, obviously it's totally fair enough that they are following those pages, given that Sony Pictures is serving as the movie's producer, but given the storied history of the game, it would be a fairly sound idea to follow some Nintendo profiles sooner rather than later.

As also noted in the original report, the profile has actually existed since November 2023, though it has only just come to life in earnest.

Things are also seemingly ramping up with the movie itself, with several castings now confirmed. This includes confirmation of Renegade Nell actress Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take up the role of Link.

The plot remains the biggest question mark for expectant fans, with many speculating on whether it will be a direct adaptation of one of the games, or a new narrative crafted for the movie specifically. Though some of the game's do present minor differences in the games' major characters, Link and Zelda remain fairly consistent, so we can expect those characters to remain much the same.

Whatever does happen in the intervening, it's a fairly safe bet for one of the biggest movies of 2027.
