If you are looking for an epic story to get stuck into this month then you are in luck as PlayStation is offering a 2022 hit for absolutely free.
As a sequel to 2018’s God of War, God of War Ragnarök is the latest instalment in Santa Monica Studio’s God of War series which continues on the story of our favourite former Greek god and his now teenage son.

Loosely based on North mythology and set in ancient Scandinavia, God of War Ragnarök follows the story of Kratos and Atreus as they fight to prevent the nine realms from being destroyed by Ragnarök, an event foretold in the previous title.
Released in 2022, God of War Ragnarök is now available for PlayStation Plus members as part of its January collection.
“From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018),” the official PlayStation synopsis reads.
“Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world.
Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters.
The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.”
Once a PlayStation exclusive but now available on PC, God of War Ragnarök currently sits at a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam and an 8.2 user rating on Metacritic.
Praised for its compelling storytelling and its improvements on the original, Ragnarök is not one to miss out on and luckily, it’s completely free for PS Plus Extra members.
