God of War and Dark Souls fans will want to take note of this stunning new RPG that’s coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in 2026.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of when God of War was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, and from that moment forth, it not only became one of the most important franchises on the blue brand, but its main man, Kratos, became one of the most talked-about characters in the video game realm.
This year, fans were hoping that to celebrate such a huge milestone, God of War would get a remake, built from the ground up. Instead, we got a limited edition DualSense controller.

However, we might not be getting a God of War remake this year, but judging by recent speculation, Bluepoint Games might have something cooking. This is the same studio that developed the fantastic 2020 remake of Demon’s Souls, among many other fantastic remakes and remasters.
That being said, there is another game that, despite not releasing this year for the God of War 20th anniversary, is another game that will allow us to channel our inner, old-school Kratos, with a strong dose of 2010’s Dante’s Inferno, from the original Dead Space studio, Visceral Games.
The game in question is called Loulan: The Cursed Sand, developed and published by the indie team at ChillyRoom. It also looks to be one for fans of FromSoftware’s Dark Souls, with its gothic vibe and what looks to be challenging enemies.
Loulan: The Cursed Sand looks brutal!
“Loulan: The Cursed Sand is an action RPG set along the ancient Silk Road in the Western Regions of China,” reads the synopsis of the game. “It tells a tragic love story of an exiled royal guard who returns to the fallen kingdom of Loulan amidst the chaos of war to find his beloved princess.
“You play as the skeletal warrior known as ‘The Cursed Sand’, mastering the power of sand to explore and solve puzzles in a perilous top-down world.
