PlayStation is renowned for its stellar narrative-driven exclusives, and Ghost of Tsushima is amongst the best.

If you’re yet to dive into this Sucker Punch gem, I implore you to. After all, the Director’s Cut is included in PlayStation Plus’ extra catalogue.

From engaging combat to one of the most picturesque open worlds you’ll ever have laid eyes on, Ghost of Tsushima has it all - except a sequel, that is.

Ghost of Tsushima is soon set to land on PC but a sequel is yet to be announced. It’s assumed that one is on the way.

Sony’s yet to acknowledge that mysterious Ghost of Tsushima footage used in last year’s ‘exclusively on PS5’ marketing campaign that only used footage from, you guessed it, PS5 exclusives.

Many took this to mean that Ghost of Tsushima 2 was due to be imminently revealed with the latest guess being that its first trailer could debut later this summer as we approach showcase season.

We’ll have to wait and see what Sony has in store but in the meantime, an unexpected Ghost of Tsushima update has arrived on PlayStation 4 and 5.

Take a look at Ghost of Tsushima in action below.

It’s not the most thrilling update. Version 2.19 is aimed at adding crossplay support so that when Ghost of Tsushima launches on PC later this month, PlayStation users can join PC users in the game’s multiplayer offering, Legends.

Developers also tweeted, “An XP issue at rank 999 in Legends was corrected, an exploit allowing an extra player on two-person teams has been removed, as well as additional fixes.”

It’s assuredly exciting news for PlayStation players who may have PC-using friends that are about to embark on Jin Sakai’s journey for the first time.

Ghost of Tsushima is perhaps best known for its single-player narrative campaign, but Legends is well worth checking out too.

In this multiplayer offering, players choose from four unique classes - samurai, hunter, ronin or assassin - and engage in a number of battles in a world inspired by Japanese mythology.

As a duo, you can work through several story missions, unlocking more of Gyozen’s mythical stories as you progress.

The Ghost of Tsushima PlayStation update is out now and the PC port launches on 16 May.
