PlayStation gamers can grab a bonus freebie inspired by the Far Cry series, and you don’t even need PlayStation Plus.
If you’re a fan of digital collectables you can only display on a digital shelf, have I got news for you, as you can now claim one on the PlayStation app inspired by Ubisoft’s open-world shooter Far Cry 6.

Far Cry 6 is, of course, the latest entry in the Far Cry series, starring the legendary Giancarlo Esposito as the main antagonist, a ruthless dictator ruling the fictional island nation Yara, whom the player is tasked with overthrowing.
While it didn’t quite live up to the scale of previous entries, it’s still a jolly good time, and the DLC expansions are possibly some of the best we’ve had so far, giving us control of previous villains like Vaas from Far Cry 3.
Back to the freebie though, new and old fans of the Far Cry series can claim a digital collectible for their PlayStation app for playing just about any of the Far Cry games available on Sony’s console.
The collectable itself is the dog Boomer, a companion in the game and a very good boy, and no you can’t pet the collectable - we checked.
To add Boomer to your collection, all you have to do is play either Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Far Cry Primal, Far Cry New Dawn or Far Cry 6, and you’ll automatically unlock the reward on your app.
You can then stick him on your shelf and admire him alongside others, including a golden PlayStation 4 that’s also available to claim right now.
It’s worth mentioning these collectables don’t do anything, at least not yet, they’re simply there to look pretty but they’re worth grabbing if you can, especially since some of them can be quite cool and unique.
