Dino Crisis fans rejoice, PlayStation just revived the survival horror

We're so back

Finally, some good news. Well, brilliant news actually. Dino Crisis has come back from the dead to regale us with its action once more.

We’d all loved a new Dino Crisis game, and while a remake seems possible, it isn’t going to launch yet.

As announced in PlayStation’s State of Play, a new lineup of free games is joining PS Plus this October with Dino Crisis being one of the titles on offer.

Premium members took to Reddit to voice their excitement about the news in a discussion that's surprisingly wholesome for the forum.

Dino Crisis making a comeback has fans hopeful that Capcom will do more with the franchise moving forward.

“This is big,” said Believe0017, “Capcom actually doing something with one of their PS1 games is huge. Hopefully this means RE2 and 3 are possible. And also Dino Crisis 2.”

“Hope we can purchase Dino Crisis. RE Directors Cut is only available on premium still,” commented G1Megatron.

The fact that gamers want to spend extra money to purchase a game that they’ll soon get for free tells you a lot about the game.

After all, it’s deemed a classic for a reason.

Does this mean we can expect to see more Dino Crisis make its way onto the service? It’s possible, though given how long it’s taken to get the OG title, don’t go holding your breath.

Now that Dino Crisis the franchise is on everyone’s lips, people are once again begging for that elusive remake.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 have been remastered, so anything feels possible at the moment.

For now, the PS Plus announcement simply reads “coming soon” for Dino Crisis, but as we’re nearing the end of September, we doubt you’ll have long to wait before you can relive the highs of this iconic 90s experience.

We genuinely cannot wait.
