PlayStation Plus Premium has just dropped a new bonus freebie, and it’s perfect if you’re catching up on 2025’s biggest games.
Although you’re probably subscribed to PlayStation Plus for the online multiplayer access or the free games, Premium also allows you to play Game Trials.
Game Trials essentially let you download full games and play a short chunk of their opening hours to see if you like it or not. You can typically play around two to four hours of content before the trial expires.
Since you’ve got the full game installed, once you’re finished with the trial and decide to purchase the full thing, you can simply head to the PlayStation Store to buy it, then can pick up where you left off immediately afterwards.

The latest game trial added to PlayStation Plus Premium is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which has a duration of two hours. Just enough time for you to play through that rather memorable opening prologue.
It’s also been added to PlayStation Plus Deluxe, if you’re located in a region that doesn’t have Premium.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 joins the likes of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Alan Wake 2, and Baldur’s Gate 3 which also have free trials available on PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Has Been One Of 2025's Most Popular Games
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has received a lot of praise this year, with fans citing its story, characters, scope, and gameplay as standout features.
It sold 3.3 million copies within the first 33 days of release, and 5 million copies by October 2025.
It won the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards earlier this year, as well as taking home eight other awards it was nominated for.
It did, however, land itself in a spot of controversy last week after it was awarded the Game of the Year and Debut Game prizes at the Indie Game Awards, only for the organisation to revoke it afterwards.
This was due to revelations that developer Sandfall Interactive had included generated AI textures in the final release, which disqualified it from receiving the awards.
These textures were placeholders left in the game at release, and were subsequently patched out in an update released post-launch.
The two awards it was disqualified from were then given to the runner-ups, with the Game of the Year award went to Blue Prince, while Best Debut Game went to Sorry We’re Closed.
