Beloved YouTuber Jacksepticeye has high hopes that his Bloodborne film will force Sony to give the fans what they want.
If you told us a few years ago that Sony was planning to make an animated film about Bloodborne, we’d have called you optimistic. If you said Sony would get famed YouTuber Jacksepticeye to produce said Bloodborne film, we’d be checking if you knew what planet you were on.
In 2026 though, it’s far more believable, and it's happening as last week at CinemaCon, Sony confirmed a Bloodborne film was in the works with superfan Seán ‘Jacksepticeye’ McLoughlin onboard to bring it to life.
Speaking with GAMINGbible at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards, McLoughlin shared the immense pressure he’s under to get the film right.
When asked how it felt to be part of such a monumental project McLoughlin said: “I'm not even exaggerating when I say I think it's the biggest thing I've ever done with my career in my life.”

Since it launched in 2015, Bloodborne has been highly regarded as some of the best work produced by FromSoftware, and fans have been dying to see more.
“I'm right there with them,” said the YouTuber, “I was one of the people banging the drum to be like 'Let's get anything Bloodborne done.’ Every announcement I was always sitting there with my clown makeup on, waiting to be disappointed.”
Now Bloodborne enjoyers are finally getting the new content they’d dreamed of, and who better than Jacksepticeye to deliver it to them?

McLoughlin has played the game on his channel several times, and reportedly plays it every year off-camera for his own enjoyment. He’s a superfan in every regard, so the film couldn’t be in better hands.
“To have this one in the chamber for a while, knowing it was going to happen and knowing the internet was going to explode over it, it's just been the coolest experience ever,” he said on the red carpet.
The pressure is definitely on though. The community’s reaction to the news last week makes that abundantly clear, especially as the success of this film could shape the future of the game in more ways than one.
Speaking more about that pressure, McLoughlin joked, “Sometimes I wonder why I even did it to myself. But I know that I'm going to try my best,” before sharing his hope that the film will lead to another Bloodborne release.
“It's a lot of pressure, but I think it's a really good challenge, and if it gets something [else] Bloodborne made, then I'll take it on.”
After last year’s live-action Iron Lung film adaptation by Markiplier, it’s clear YouTubers make surprisingly good film directors/producers.
Hopefully, the Bloodborne animated film is of a similar quality, but with such talented and passionate creatives behind it fans probably have nothing to worry about.
