PlayStation 5 owners are reportedly getting a treat in February, as a new leak suggests one beloved PS4 game is finally getting a new-gen upgrade.
Over the past few months I’ve been knee-deep in RPGs. I played Yakuza Kiwami 2 over Christmas and dove straight in Fallout: New Vegas right afterwards.
After rolling credits on Fallout I was wondering what RPG I’ll find myself in next and it looks like I’ve found my answer.
According to recent leaks from PlayStation, as discovered by Gematsu, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is apparently getting a PlayStation 5 remaster, with enhanced visuals and probably some quality-of-life improvements.

Here's everything we know so far, including release date, platforms and price.

Now the original game was pretty solid but it was the sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, that generated the most fans for the series.
It was a huge success for Warhorse and Deep Silver and received several Game Award 2025 nominations. Taking that into consideration it only makes sense to return to the first game and give it a new lease on life, though I’m sure a third game is on the cards as well.

At the time of writing it’s unknown if this will be a free upgrade for those who already own a copy of the game, or if there’ll be a small upgrade fee like we’ve seen other games do in the past.
If there is a fee it likely won’t be too egregious, probably somewhere between £5-£10 depending on what it adds to the game. If I had to bet on it I’d imagine it’ll be a free upgrade, or you’d hope so anyway.
There is currently no release date for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance PS5 remaster, but we'll update you when we know.
For those who haven’t played Kingdom Come: Deliverance this remaster will probably incite some interest, and for those who have played it perhaps a replay is in order depending on how different the game will feel.
You’ve got quite the choice of platform too as the original game was released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC so I’d imagine all three console versions will get access to this upgrade.
The Nintendo Switch 2 feels a bit up in the air right now but I’m sure it could run the changes/improvements.
We don’t know when Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s free upgrade will drop but based on the leak it feels like it could be pretty soon. Hopefully it’s a worthy add-on but if not the original game still holds up quite well.
