PlayStation Plus subscribers are obsessed with massive new RPG

If you have no idea which RPG we're referring to, you need to rectify that immediately because it's not to be missed!

Hear that? That’s the sound of PlayStation Plus gamers harmonising in agreement as they obsess over a massive new RPG. No, I’m not talking about Baldur’s Gate 3 or Starfield, I’m talking about Sea of Stars.

This Sabotage Studio game might have launched at a dangerous time, in terms of having to compete with other titles, but that decision has obviously paid off for the devs. Despite the competition running rampant right now, this indie RPG is stealing the hearts of everyone who plays it. As we described in our own review of the game, it’s “retro-flavoured perfection with a modern twist”.

After only one day since its launch, the game has sold over 100K copies! Considering a lot of players got their first look at this game thanks to PS Plus and Game Pass, this is fantastic news for the devs. Taking to Twitter, Sabotage tweeted “We’re speechless. Thank you”. Seeing a game you’ve been watching for quite some time receive the positivity it deserves is a wonderful feeling, as one Redditor shared. “I'm over four hours in. It is so much fun! The story and gameplay are great so far. And this makes me happy because I'm a Kickstarter backer, so this game has been a long time coming!” said chasimus.

Even those who didn’t back the game and are only now discovering it, have nothing but high praise. “Sea of Stars is great. Really liking it,” said FocusCompetitive6137, while another user said, “Been playing it, amazing game and really hits the Mario RPG nostalgia.” I could go on listing the numerous comments that say similar to this, such is the level of obsession currently linked to this game. And without a shadow of a doubt, it’s well placed.

If you’re looking to play and don’t have a PS Plus or Game Pass, you can purchase the game at the discounted price of £26.55 on Steam. Sea of Stars is out now on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, with it firmly securing itself as an RPG not to be missed.
