Everwind has finally unveiled its release date.

The upcoming survival RPG will launch in early access on PC via Steam on 17 March.

If this title isn’t yet on your radar, it absolutely should be - especially if you’re a fan of Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda, or Skyrim given that the game is a combination of all three.

Played from a first-person perspective, Everwind can be enjoyed solo or with friends as players navigate a flying ship to various islands where they will craft, loot, and fight.

Your ship becomes your base or hub as you set out to discover the various secrets of this strange and mystifying world.

One glance at Everwind and you’ll understand the Minecraft comparison. Everwind also opts for a voxel-based world.

The Zelda and Skyrim comparisons are reflected in the game’s setting and RPG elements.

Everwind has been created by Enjoy Studio S.A with Bohemia Interactive handling publishing duties, and it’s a game I know I’ve had my eye on for a very long time.

It seems to boast a really adept combat system where players will get to make use of a sword, bow, and a magical staff that unleashes powerful blows.

Master the arcane art of alchemy and you’ll unlock new spells to use against your foes as you encounter both hostile animals and grisly creatures in Everwind’s various dungeons.

The game’s wider world is procedurally generated, so you shouldn’t run out of things to do - especially as it’s also fully destructible, similarly to the recently launched Pokémon Pokopia.

You can personalise your character in Everwind too, which is always nice to see.

We’ve Been Hands-On With Everwind

GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley actually had the opportunity to go hands-on with the title at last year’s Gamescom where he came away feeling very impressed.

“My first thoughts are overall pretty positive. I do like a game that just throws you in and leaves you to your own devices, and once I completed the short tutorial, that’s pretty much what happened,” he began.

“The ship is obviously the best part of the game so far, and I’m interested to see what else can be done with it aside from simply making it bigger and placing more things on it.

“I need to see a bit more of the game in order to have a firmer judgement, as the majority of my demo was spent on ground level preparing my ship for take-off, and I didn’t get chance to explore anything higher than the first tier of floating islands, but from what I experienced I’m definitely interested in seeing more.”

Well, we can all see more on 17 March when that early access period finally kicks off.
