When it comes to wonderfully crafted stories, characters, and a huge immersive open world, few have done it better than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developed by CD Projekt RED.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was initially released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While developers CDPR had released other games in The Witcher series at that point, it’s probably fair to say that the third numbered entry helped to put the Polish developer on the map.

In December 2022, CDPR released the long-awaited and free new-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The new-gen update made big improvements to the visuals (for what was already a beautiful game) and performance and even brought in new content inspired by the live-action Netflix adaptation.

“You are Geralt of Rivia, mercenary monster slayer. Before you stand a war-torn, monster-infested continent you can explore at will. Your current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world,” reads the description of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

However, as good as the official remaster is, that won't stop talented modders from making even more improvements to the video games we love and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is no exception. One such modder goes by the name of ‘Halk Hogan PL’, who I assume is no relation to the “Immortal” Hulk Hogan but you never know

The ‘HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition’ for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises to bring improved environmental textures, character models and more, making this beloved RPG look even better than ever. The assets will be enhanced from the official new-gen update and this mod is currently set to be released later this year on PC.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
