Despite CD Projekt RED currently putting most of its manpower into development for The Witcher 4, it seems as though it has not yet given up with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after just announcing an upcoming update.
According to a recent blog post on the official The Witcher website, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be welcoming cross-platform mod support for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles later this year.
“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we’re excited to share some good news for our players and modders!” The blog post reads.

Creating, sharing, and enjoying mods will be easier and more accessible, as players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S will be able to share a modding ecosystem.
This comes thanks to a collaboration between CD Projekt RED and mod.io, a tool that will bring cross-platform support thanks to an easy-to-use site that can be used to download and upload mods.
Of course, this does not mean that other sites are not available. As such, players will still be able to access their mods via Nexus Mods, Steam Workshop, and more.
However, to access mods on consoles, mod.io is required.

As you may remember, CD Projekt RED announced its The Witcher 3 REDKIT this time last year, allowing players to access a comprehensive modding tool for owners of the game across Steam, GOG, and Epic Games.
However, this latest update will now make it possible for fans to access mods across all platforms and considering that the modding community releases hundreds of new releases each week, this is the perfect way to dive into brand-new content for The Witcher 3.
Well, it will definitely make the wait until The Witcher 4 a whole lot easier.
“We will share more information closer to the release of the patch, so stay tuned!” The blog post continues.
