You can download a free remaster for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that makes this beloved fantasy RPG look better than ever.
Originally released in 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED is considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time.
10 years later, fans still cannot get enough of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is a good thing, because we need to be kept busy until The Witcher 4 arrives, which could be two years away, at least.
In December 2022, just when we thought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt couldn't look more visually striking, CD Projekt RED treated us to a free new-gen update on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

What’s more, befitting of the wizardly skills of series protagonist, Geralt of Rivia, somehow, the developers managed to port The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the Nintendo Switch in 2019, which still baffles me to this very day.
Arguably, the best place to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on PC because with a capable gaming system, it can not only look and perform better than its console counterparts, but you can also benefit from the ever-vibrant modding community.
One such mod is called ‘Improved Vision (2025) Reshade’ created by wildcat002 and is available to download for free right now via NexusMods.
“People usually just change two things and then say it is an ultra-realistic preset. So, I decided to make this for myself because I didn't like how dark and saturated the game is,” said wildcat002 in the description of the mod.
This free mod fixes oversaturation, enhances visuals in darker areas of the game and makes overall colours “more realistic”.
Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, ‘Improved Vision (2025) Reshade’ is a PC exclusive. For the rest of us, we can enjoy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as intended on consoles.
