We can’t wait for the next Tomb Raider game to arrive but until we get a glimpse at the next project from developers Crystal Dynamics we can only imagine what might be, at least for now.

In April 2022, Crystal Dynamics announced that it is working on a new Tomb Raider game and it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will move away from its previous Foundation engine. At this time, it’s unclear whether the new Tomb Raider will be a new story or a new remake of the 1996 original with various conflicting reports.

Check out the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered trailer below!

Fans were hopeful that a new Tomb Raider announcement was imminent following an update on its official website but at the time of writing, we’re still waiting for its big reveal. Hopefully, Crystal Dynamics will put us all out of our misery sooner rather than later.

So until that big reveal arrives, we’re just going to have to use our imagination. Thankfully at least, the YouTube channel Enfant Terrible has given us a taste of what we can expect with a stunning Unreal Engine 5 concept video that has somehow made us even more hyped for the next adventures of Lara Croft.

The Unreal Engine 5 concept takes full advantage of RTX 4090, Lumen and Nanite technology with DLSS 3.5 running on maximum settings. It’s fair to say that if the official Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics looks even better than this, then we’re in for a treat.

A release date hasn't been announced for the next Tomb Raider game but it is expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In the meantime, we can enjoy the remasters of the original trilogy with Tomb Raider I-III Remastered out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
