A new mod for Stardew Valley introduces adorable Pokémon to the game, and I can’t believe this wasn’t done sooner.
Pokémon is a worldwide phenomenon that has reached millions of people, and has been featured in many different types of media like video games, television shows, films, and countless amounts of merchandise.
It’s also got to the point where modders are including Pokémon in their mods for various different games, even ones where they might not necessarily belong.
Stardew Valley players can add some of their favourite Pokémon to the game now with this new mod, titled Pokemon Companions.

As the title implies, Pokemon Companions adds in several Pokémon to Stardew Valley as pets. They will follow you around as you go about your daily routine, providing a bit of companionship as you work on your farm or explore Pelican Town and its surroundings.
According to the mod author otohimexoxo, Pokemon Companions adds 39 Pokémon to Stardew Valley, but there are plans for more.
Some of the Pokémon featured includes Flaafy, Ampharos, Ditto, and Skitty. That’s at least from what I can tell. Stardew Valley’s pixel-art graphics sometimes makes it a little difficult to understand what you’re looking at.

Altogether though, it looks like a great mod for Pokémon fans who wish to add some of their favourite ‘Mon to Stardew Valley.
Otohimexoxo is taking requests for more Pokémon to add to the mod, hopefully increasing the number to accommodate fans of different Pokémon.
“I would love for you to add Snorlax, Giratina, Wailor, Lapras or Gengar,” reads one reply in the mod posts.
“This is super cute! I'll list my favorites to see if any will make the cut and be added!” reads another reply.
“Vulpix, Ninetails, (and Alolan), All the Eeveelutions, Jirachi, Shiny Whimsicott, Fennekin, Delphox, Nickit, and Thievul. (Also a second vote for Hisuian Zorua!)”
“This is possibly bias on my end since I am a big fan of the Zorua/Zoroark line, lol, but is there a chance in the future for Hisuian Zorua to be a companion? Just a wonder!” reads a third post underneath the mod.
In any case, it sounds like Otohimexoxo is already hard at work on adding more Pokémon to the mod, so we’ll have to keep an eye on it for the time being to see what further updates bring.
